Corridor Drill - Practice your touch

Goal: learn to match line and speed

Description: With this drill, you train your instincts on matching speed and line on a breaking putt. From your starting position, try to alternately roll your putt above and below the tee in your ideal line corridor while still converting it. That way you will find out about your natural speed tendencies and train your feel for slope and its impact on a putt, so you can adjust instinctively on the course depending on the putt and situation you face.

Setup:

  • Choose a hole in a severe slope to putt to
  • place a tee at your starting point roughly 10 feet from the hole
  • scan your putt and select the ideal line’s corridor visual
  • place a tee in the middle of the corridor right around the apex of your putt
